Check-in was really quick, and check-out was fine too, though I did have to wait a little bit. Maybe I’m just being impatient, but overall it was a smooth experience.

Booked this through hotels.com and, you know, totally calm and normal reaction here, but the room was actually spotless. The bathroom looked fresh, the sheets smelled really nice, and I didn’t notice any dust anywhere. I’m a little picky about cleanliness, so I was quietly very happy about that. Would definitely stay again

"Nice that the account security actually works"
I’ve been using Hotels.com for a while, and thankfully the account security seems solid. Login alerts show up quickly, which is more than I can say for some other sites, and updating my password after getting a new phone was surprisingly painless. So far, nothing weird has happened with my bookings or card info, which is the bare minimum but still appreciated. It’s simple and doesn’t make travel planning harder than it already needs to be.
"Easy Cancellation, Slow Refund"
I had to cancel a hotel booking through Hotels.com, the cancellation itself was straightforward. The annoying part was the refund, it did come back eventually, but it took more days than they originally said it would. Customer service was fine, nothing amazing, but not awful either. Based on this one experience, I kind of assume Hotels.com is okay when things go smoothly, but I’d be cautious if there’s any chance my plans might change. I’d probably use them again, but only if I was really sure about the trip

"Easy base for getting around"
I booked this through Hotels.com mainly because the location looked convenient, that ended up being the best part. It was close to the train station and there were a few food options nearby, so we didn’t really have to plan much... which was nice.
Most of the places we wanted to check out were either walkable or just a quick ride away. That made the whole trip feel a lot easier, especially when we were tired and didn’t want to deal with figuring out long routes.
The area itself wasn’t anything fancy, but it felt safe enough and worked well for what we needed. If you’re mostly looking for a simple, practical spot to stay while you explore, this was solid.....

Booking was easy, and the wheelchair-accessible room was actually ready when I got there. It worked well for what I needed, so overall I’d say it was a solid stay.

"Good deals, but the emails are a little pushy"
I usually end up checking Hotels.com when they send me an offer by email. To be fair, some of the deals are actually useful, and I’ve found decent prices a few times, so I can’t really complain about that part.
The only thing is they do seem to go a bit overboard with the emails, like they’re really trying to make sure you don’t forget them. And sometimes the “deal” looks better in the email than it does once you actually click through. Still, the site is easy to use, and I do keep checking it before I book.

The staff were really friendly and helped us quickly whenever we asked for something. Check-in took maybe a little longer than expected, but overall the service was good and the stay was pleasant.

I waited quite a while before anyone got back to me, and when they did, the replies felt copy-and-paste. Not exactly the kind of help you hope for when you’re already trying to sort something out.

"Smooth Check-In, Honestly Impressed"
I booked through Hotels.com and when I got to the hotel, everything was already correct, my dates, room type, name, all of it. I was ready for some kind of issue because that usually happens, but nope. Actually, you know what, I was kind of impressed. No hassle at all.

"Room was as expected, but communication was frustrating"
I booked through Hotels.com, and to be fair, the room looked just like the photos. The location and amenities were accurate too, so there weren’t any weird surprises there. My only real annoyance was the unclear communication, it felt like I had to figure out a few things on my own that should’ve been explained better upfront.

The bed was comfortable enough, so I did get some sleep, but the room felt cramped. The pillows were way too flat for my liking too. I thought about asking the front desk for extras, but I don’t always trust customer service to actually follow through, so I didn’t bother...

"Amenities could be a lot better"
Just a heads up for anyone thinking about staying here: the amenities were disappointing. The pool didn’t look very clean, and the Wi-Fi was so spotty that it was hard to use for anything important. If you’re counting on those things during your stay, I’d look around at other options before booking.

"Not gonna lie, hotels is usually…"
Not gonna lie, hotels is usually easy to use, and I can find hotels fairly quickly on both the website and the app. The filters are helpful, but sometimes they seem to reset on me or show places that don’t really match what I selected, which gets a little annoying. The app can also feel slow sometimes, and the booking pages aren’t always super clear, especially when taxes and fees show up later in the process. It’s not bad overall, and I still use it, but it’s definitely not my favorite.

"Hotels.com Really Needs to Fix Their Review Sorting"
I booked a hotel after reading the reviews on Hotels.com, and to be fair, most of what people said actually matched what I found when I got there, both the good stuff and the bad. But it’s frustrating that some old reviews still get pushed near the top. That’s on Hotels.com, not the travelers. If I’m planning a trip, I shouldn’t have to dig around because their site can’t show the most relevant reviews first

I paid exactly what it showed me at checkout, which was such a relief!!! No weird extra charges popping up at the last second or anything like that!!!
